Our Employees Show Their Pride

By celebrating Pride we celebrate inclusion and diversity. We are proud of our employees who are committed to supporting a safe, respectful and inclusive workplace where everyone can feel comfortable being who they are.

Community Food Sharing Association

During 2020, more families than ever have had to turn to the food banks for support. During this time of increased use, food banks are seeing decreased donations due to the cancellation of many events, like the parade, that would traditionally help stock food bank shelves during the holiday season.

We are very proud of our 20 plus years of partnership with the Community Food Sharing Association and of our employees for wanting to do something to help out in this time of need. Our President and CEO, Gary Murray, along with some of our employees had great pleasure in presenting a donation of $25,000, plus food collected from our company-wide food drive, to Eg Walters, General Manager of the Community Food Sharing Association. We hope our donation helps brighten the holiday season. A big THANK YOU to our employees for showing they care.

The Salvation Army

We have partnered with The Salvation Army on many worthwhile campaigns over the years to assist them with the great work they do in our communities. This year we’ve decided to help out in a bit of a different way. We’ve donated two automated external defibrillators for The Salvation Army’s Ches Penney Centre of Hope to provide staff, visitors and volunteers with essential life-saving equipment. In the spirit of giving back, we also gave a gift of $2,500 towards their annual Christmas Hamper drive. We know this year has been especially difficult for the people of our province. Our support will assist The Salvation Army in ensuring that more individuals and families have hope during this holiday season.

Coats For Kids

When the winter winds blow, a warm coat, a warm hat, and warm mittens mean so much. We were so happy to support the VOCM Cares Foundation Coats for Kids program again this year, just like we have for almost 20 years. Our employees across the province continue to show how much they care by embracing the spirit of giving back to the communities where they live and work. Many thanks for helping keep children warm this winter.

Partners For Life

As one of the founding partners for the Canadian Blood Services’ Partners for Life program in Newfoundland and Labrador, we have pledged to make 200 blood donations a year. The generosity of our employees and their families to give the gift of life is inspiring. We’re excited that we reached our goal of 200 blood donations in 2020, making us the top Partner for Life in Newfoundland again this year. Thank you to everyone who gives this life saving gift!

Motorcycle Ride For Dad

Motorcycle Ride For Dad

The 13th annual Motorcycle Ride for Dad began from our Kenmount Road parking lot on June 15. It was a tremendous success with over 200 motorcycles participating. Approximately $100,000 was raised from biker pledges and corporate sponsorships. To date, the ride has raised approximately $1.8 million to fight prostate cancer in this province.
