Employees participate in a retirement savings plan in which the Company and employee each contribute 5.75% of their base salary to a Registered Retirement Savings Plan (RRSP). Our benefits are cost shared on a 50/50 basis and include: Health Care Insurance – including Medical, Travel and Hospital Benefits; Life Insurance; Worldwide Travel Insurance; Long Term Disability Insurance; Accidental Death and Dismemberment; and, Dental Coverage (optional).
Our Employee Share Purchase Plan provides employees with a great opportunity to purchase Fortis shares, and the Company will help with your contributions. You also have the option of purchasing these shares within an RRSP, which allows you to claim both your own contributions and the Company’s contribution as a tax deduction. To help employees take advantage of this opportunity, we offer a 12-month interest-free loan through payroll deduction.
