On July 1, 2017, electricity rates increased by an overall average of approximately 8.5%, or about $8.50 on a $100 monthly bill. This rate increase is the net result of a flow through adjustment to Newfoundland Power’s customer electricity rates resulting from a final ruling on Newfoundland and Labrador Hydro’s 2013 General Rate Application and an annual review of the Rate Stabilization Account. Electricity rates vary depending on customer category and the amount of electricity used. For more information, check out our Power Connection Newsletter.
At Newfoundland Power, we understand how important it is to offer our customers safe, reliable electricity service at the lowest rates possible. That's why we continue to work hard to control our costs while improving safety, reliability and customer service for the benefit of all our customers.
