How We Respond During A Wildfire

When wildfires threaten the communities we serve, Newfoundland Power works closely with municipal, provincial and emergency response agencies. At the request of emergency partners, we may shut off power to assist firefighting efforts and keep first responders and the public safe.

Wildfire-Related Outages

There are currently no active wildfires impacting delivery of electricity in Newfoundland Power service areas.

How We Respond After A Wildfire

Our crews respond as soon as it is safe to do so — inspecting lines, poles and other infrastructure, repairing damage, and restoring service to customers as safely and quickly as possible. If you see downed power lines, please stay back 10 metres and call us at 1-800-474-5711.

If your property has been damaged or destroyed by a wildfire, we're here to help.
